The Copiague High School Colorguard is part of the Marching Band program of the Copiague High School Band. Since its inception, the Guard
has earned many awards for Best Colorguard in Championship competition, including the last two USSBA Best Guard awards.
Membership in the
Colorguard is open to any student who is willing to make the commitment towards membership. New members are recruited each Spring before
the new season. Practices continue through the Summer on Tuesday evenings as part of the Band’s July and August
schedule. In the Fall the Guard rehearses in sectional practice and with the full Band on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On Saturday
and Sundays the Band rehearses and performs at football games and competitions in preparation for the Championships, which take place
in late October and early November. In the Spring the guard performs in local parades.
An important part of the growth in our Colorguard
was the creation or our Winterguard. While members of the Fall Colorguard are eligible to join, membership is not required.
