 John Wevers, Band
Director is in his 24th year as Band Director of the Copiague High School Band. In that time the Band has grown from 29 members to over 150. A former student of David Uber, Galen Borden and Carole Reinhart, Mr. Wevers is proud to have been the Director of three Atlantic Coast Finalist bands from three different schools in two states. He is equally proud of the progress of the Copiague Band in the New York State Field Band Conference where the Band has grown from their initial membership in the “A” Class to their recent promotion to the National Class. He is a Past President of the Suffolk County Music Educator’s Association and has served as the Government Relations Chairperson and Vice President for SCMEA. Additionally, he has served on the New York State Field Band Conference Executive Board and has held posts in Tournament of Bands. He was also an EMBA music judge as well as a New Jersey All State Adjudicator. Mr. Wevers praises his students and alumni members who have given so much of themselves in helping to build our Championship Band. |

 Bruce
McCready, Drill Designer is in his ninth season with the Band. His guard was a founding member of WGI and has been associated with more than twenty championship title bands, colorguard’s and drum and bugle corps. The year 2007 will be Bruce’s fortieth year in the pageantry arena. He is an active adjudicator and has served as the DCA Visual Caption Head. He is the retired Dean of Students from Marcus Whitman High School and currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps. |
 Tracy
Bapst, Colorguard Designer is in her fifth year with the Band. She is a former first soloist of the Cadets, and was a member of the Crossmen and Patriots Drum and Bugle Corps and Winterguard. She is a protégé of Garth Fagan, choreographer of the Broadway show “The Lion King.” Ms. Bapst is pursuing her graduates studies in mathematics.

 Peter Blake, Music Arranger is in his 4th season as a member of the Copiague staff. While serving as arranger this year, he has been a musical consultant for the previous 3 seasons. Aside from working with Copiague, Peter has spent the past decade working with many bands and drum corps’ including the Cadets (DCI) and Brigadiers (DCA) where he is currently the brass caption head. During this time he has had the honor of earning championships on all levels including 6 NYSFB titles. Peter currently resides in Syracuse, NY where he teaches music in an alternative school for the Syracuse City School District. |
